From the Wyo Stays team. A working template — adapt to your property.
In Wyoming, snow and curb appeal aren't cosmetic — they're safety, access, and reviews. A guest who can't get up the driveway, or who slips on ice, is a refund and a liability. Here's the plan.
Snow & ice (winter priority #1)
- A committed snow-removal vendor before the season — the good ones book up. Have a backup.
- Clear triggers — e.g., plow/shovel at 2+ inches, and before every check-in regardless.
- Ice management — de-icer stocked; treat walkways, steps, and the entry.
- Guest access — driveway, parking, and path to the door cleared and safe.
- Roof snow-load awareness — monitor after heavy storms; know when to call a pro.
- Stock guest supplies — a shovel, ice melt, and a note on winter driving.
Landscaping (curb appeal = first impression)
- Spring/summer: mowing cadence, weeding, trimmed shrubs, healthy beds.
- Fall: leaf cleanup, gutter clearing, cut-back, and winter prep.
- Year-round: the entry and the "first photo" view kept sharp — it's what guests see first.
- Defensible space in fire season for foothill properties (see Wildfire-Season Readiness).
The calendar
Assign each task a cadence and an owner (you, a vendor, or your manager), and log it. Access and appearance should never be left to chance in a climate like this.
