Wyoming's Uncrowded Skiing Destination
The Bighorn Mountains sit east of the Continental Divide in north-central Wyoming — close enough to Sheridan for a day trip, remote enough that you'll never stand in a lift line. Two ski resorts serve this range: Meadowlark on the eastern slope and Antelope Butte near Burgess Junction. Together they offer 50+ runs across terrain that covers every ability level, from first-timer greens to genuine expert steeps.
Skiing in the Bighorn Mountains of Wyoming is a fundamentally different experience from the big-resort circuit. No $250 lift tickets, no four-hour drive from the airport, no fighting for parking. Just cold, dry powder on uncrowded slopes — the way skiing used to be everywhere and still is here. Stay in one of our Bighorn Mountain cabin rentals and wake up already in the mountains.
Two Resorts, One Mountain Range
Meadowlark Ski Resort
Wyoming's hidden gem on the eastern slope of the Bighorns. Meadowlark offers 28 runs across beginner-to-expert terrain, a genuine small-mountain atmosphere, and some of the driest powder in the Northern Rockies. The kind of place where you share a chairlift with the ski patrol and never wait in line.

Wyoming's comeback story on snow. Antelope Butte is a community-owned nonprofit ski area near Burgess Junction that's been revived by locals who refused to let their mountain die. North-facing aspect holds cold, dry powder exceptionally well. Verify current operating status at antelopebutte.org before visiting.
