From the Wyo Stays team.
Reviews are the engine of this business — they drive ranking, trust, and bookings. And five-star reviews aren't luck; they're a system of small, repeatable moments. Here's the playbook.
Before arrival — set the tone
- Fast, warm communication and crystal-clear check-in details. Confusion at the door is the fastest way to lose a star.
- Under-promise, over-deliver — accurate photos and honest descriptions so reality beats expectation.
At arrival — the first five minutes
- Spotless. Cleanliness is the #1 review driver. No hairs, no dust, no "almost."
- A warm welcome touch — a note, a local treat (see Welcome Basket Ideas).
- Everything works and is obvious — wifi, heat, appliances, all explained (see Digital Welcome Book).
During the stay — be reachable, not intrusive
- Respond fast if they reach out (a 30-minute standard is a superpower).
- Fix issues immediately and graciously — a problem solved well often earns a five-star review.
At checkout — ask, the right way
- A friendly thank-you that makes the review ask easy and specific: "If you enjoyed it, a five-star review means the world."
- Plant the direct rebooking seed at the same time.
The mindset
Guests rate how cared for they felt. Nail cleanliness, communication speed, and a human touch, and the five stars follow. One bad review from a missed basic costs you more than any amenity buys you.
