What 2026 looked like

Born in a Barn started in 2011, when Shelley Kinnison invited six vendors onto her ranch property at 415 US Highway 14 E, just outside Sheridan. 2026 was Year 15: 90+ handpicked vendors, live music, a full food field, and a crowd the organizer and Sheridan County Travel & Tourism put at 8,000+ over the two days. The event ran Friday and Saturday, September 18-19, 2026, 10:00 am to 6:00 pm both days, per borninabarnwyo.com. Admission was $5 at the gate, per Sheridan County Travel & Tourism. Parking was free in the field next to the venue, with riders on horseback directing traffic.

Mimosa proceeds at the food field went to breast cancer awareness, and much of the crowd migrated downtown afterward to the Mint Bar on Main Street — running since 1907 — for the after party.

The scene

Vendors lined a working ranch: reclaimed-wood furniture with real joinery, refurbished chairs, hand-tooled leather, handcrafted jewelry, and a gemstone booth that stopped people mid-stride — trays of raw and polished stone, amethyst clusters, agate slabs, a vendor who could name a piece's origin on sight. The food field ran alongside it, pizza in a cone included, with live music drifting across from somewhere near the tree line. Livestock on the property was a reminder that underneath the market is a working Wyoming ranch. Hauling and parking lessons

• Parking is a field, not a lot. Riders on horseback direct you in — it works, but budget a few extra minutes over a paved venue.
• Big buys need a plan. Ranch hands ("Barn Boys") cart larger pieces and help load them into your vehicle, and some guests pull trailers. The reclaimed-wood tables and furniture people buy here don't fit in a hotel room or a sedan.
• Where you stay matters more than people expect. Circle Bar Manor has trailer parking at the end of the block (not on the property itself). Paloma on Main and The Leather Rose share a building with its own parking garage. Ask about garage or trailer space when you book — it's the single biggest lesson from 2026.
