My Story: a historic creekside cabin, managed end to end

Wyo Stays no longer manages My Story. The owner chose to self-manage in October 2026. This page documents what we did for the property and what we handed back.

    The property

The deck at My Story with a built-in stone grill and a picnic table set among ponderosa pines.

A historic cabin on a creek in Story, Wyoming, south of Sheridan at the foot of the Bighorns. Stone and log, with a wood-burning fireplace, a copper soaking tub, four bedrooms and two baths. Sleeps six. The kind of place guests remember by the sound of the water.

    What we did

    • Day-to-day operations: guest messaging, check-in instructions, cleaning and turnover coordination, and monthly owner statements.
    • Pricing: nightly rates set by season and demand rather than a flat number, adjusted as the calendar filled.
    • Direct booking: a dedicated page on wyostays.com so guests could book with us instead of through a third-party platform.
    • Guest experience: a local guidebook, plus optional concierge services for the guests who wanted a private chef, stocked groceries or a guided fishing day.
    • Local team: a Sheridan County brokerage 20 minutes down the road, not a call center.

    What carries forward

    1. 1.

The owner owns the asset. The listing, the photos and the guest relationship belong to the property's owner. We built the work so that handing it back takes days, not months.

    2. 2.

Marketing and management can be separate jobs. Some owners want the full service. Some want to run their own bookings and keep the reach. We offer both.
