How to clean an Airbnb to CDC standards (Avoid COVID-19)
Maintaining a clean and safe environment for our guests is a top priority for Wyo Stays, a vacation rental brokerage based in Wyoming. In light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we have implemented strict cleaning protocols that meet the guidelines set by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to ensure the safety of our guests.
Our cleaning process begins with a thorough cleaning of the entire rental, including dusting, vacuuming, and mopping all surfaces. We pay special attention to high-touch areas such as doorknobs, light switches, and remote controls, ensuring that these are thoroughly disinfected. In the bathroom, we focus on cleaning and disinfecting toilets, showers, and countertops, while in the kitchen, we clean and disinfect all surfaces, including the stove, oven, refrigerator, and dishwasher.
In addition to regular cleaning, we also change all bed linens and make all beds, replace all towels and washcloths, and check and refill all guest amenities. We also ensure that all appliances and electronics are in working order, and that all windows and doors are properly secured and locked. Any damages or maintenance issues are reported to the property manager immediately.
To ensure that all properties are cleaned to the highest standards, we use CDC-approved cleaning products for disinfecting. Our staff are trained in the proper use of these products and instructed to follow the manufacturer's guidelines for use. We also provide hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes for guests to use during their stay.
To ensure that all of these protocols are being followed, we have implemented a checklist that each property manager and cleaning staff should follow before and after the guests arrives, followed by a final walkthrough with the property manager or supervisor. This allows us to ensure that all tasks have been completed and standards met, and that any issues encountered during the cleaning process are addressed promptly.
