Elevation of our mountains makes it possible for us to enjoy a wide range of slopes, for skiers of every level. From resorts to backcountry you will find it all in Wyoming! Ski season starts with the first good snowfall (usually around mid-November) and generally continues through mid-March.
Snowmobiling or sledding is a top favorite in Wyoming! There are numerous snowmobile rental services and guides to safely give you the experience of a lifetime!
Enjoy the peace and thrill of fishing in the winter! The game changes when the lakes freeze over, be sure to dress to impress mother nature as it gets chilly! You may just catch dinner!
You’ll find hundreds of miles of paved and off-road riding trails around our communities and mountains. Be prepared for extra high winds or extreme weather as you ride higher, and potentially slick conditions. Make sure you wear protective gear and reflectors!
Bring your hiking poles, off-road sturdy shoes and plenty of high-energy foods, because once you get started walking Wyoming hiking trails, you aren’t going to want to stop, the views are incredible! Most trails are clearly marked, but always stay prepared!
There are more 180 campsites in the park, and demand is high, so book in advance. Note that developed sites have basic facilities such as running water and toilets; backcountry sites have no such facilities.
You’ll find an incredible array of wildlife roaming freely around Wyoming... yes even in town! Enjoying taking photos, but do be sure to keep a safe distance.
